How do roof squares and layers change the estimate?
One roofing square equals 100 square feet. The calculator uses about 250 lb per square per shingle layer, so each additional layer increases the estimated shingle weight in direct proportion.
What if my estimate is over 4 tons?
The calculator will not invent a larger capacity. More than 4 tons exceeds every currently configured roofing dumpster offered here, so the project needs manual planning by phone or quote request.
